Read MoreThe Best Trekkings in Langtang
The Langtang Valley is a beautiful alpine region north of Kathmandu bordering Tibet. The Langtang trekking offers all the diversity that can be found on a trek in the Himalayas with less effort than many of the trekkings in Nepal. There are two valleys that extend from north to south and offer a variety of possible hiking trails.
The area was designated the first Himalayan National Park in Nepal in 1971, and is inhabited for the most part by the Tamang ethnic group whose religious practices, language and clothing are much more similar to those of Tibet. Here, the high alpine landscape makes this an ideal destination for walkers who have a tighter schedule and prefer to walk through the deep Himalayas away from the popular footpaths of the Annapurna and Everest regions.
The valley of Langtang opens like a funnel with impressive views of the peaks of the Himalayas (Langtang Lirung 7227m, Langtang II, Urking Kangari, Baden Powell Scout Peak, Naya Kanga, Yala Peak …).
Once in Kyanjin Gompa, we can explore the area and discover the Langtang Lirung Glacier, or walk the plains along the Langtang River to visit the lower part of the Yala Peak (Numthang).
The Langtang region is a famous producer of Yak cheese (commonly known as Yak cheese, although Yak is the male and therefore the cheese comes from the female called Nuk).
The hearts and the landscape were greatly affected by the earthquake of April 25th, 2015. There is history at every step; a story behind each look and behind each rock we leave behind. So many emotions will awaken your heart and open your spirit to a new perspective of life.
-MAGIC KYANJIN
Langtang National Park is one of our favorite regions that we recommend to our clients. Not only for the spectacular views of one of the most wonderful corners of the Himalayas, but especially for the people, culture and tradition that live in this area.
In our magic Kyanjin Trekking you will walk through the territory of Langtang National Park and visit the magical Kyangin Gompa, the largest sanctuary in Langtang. You will enjoy the spectacular views of the Himal Ganesh and the Langtang mountain ranges including Langtang Lirung, Kyanjin Ri and the Yala peak. From Syaprubesi (100 km northwest of Kathmandu), a gentle climb through bamboo forests will take us to the heart of Langtang where we will find ourselves surrounded by spectacular Himalayan giants. During our journey we can find langurs (monkeys) or red pandas.
-GOSAIKUNDA PARADISE
The Gosaikunda lake attracts many pilgrims throughout the year. They visit the place with the intention of taking a holy bath. Some protected animal species such as the Langurs and the Red Pandas inhabit this region.
In addition to being a gateway to numerous peaks of the Himalayas, Langtang offers access to peaceful landscapes and alpine forests, and especially to the sacred lake Gosainkunda. The culture of the Tamangs, their lifestyle and their celebrations add colors to this land endowed with nature. Walking through a less crowded path, the Gosaikunda trekking is an opportunity to explore the beautiful culture that for a long time grew in the impressive natural environment, that’s why we call it the Gosainkunda Paradise.
