An inspirational trip that will take your breath away. Langtang National Park is one of our favorite regions. Away from crowded areas, we get immersed in the heart of the Himalaya. We will participate in the culture, tradition and local life in a very authentic way.

Covering approximately 1710 square meters, Langtang National Park was officially gazetted in 1976. Situated in the central Himalayan region of Nepal, with its southern border lying about 30 kilometers north of Kathmandu. It contains the greatest range of vegetation as it’s area encompasses both subtropical and alpine zones. Altogether some 1000 plant species, 160 bird species, 30 mammal species have been identified in the National Park.

The Gosaikunda sacred lake (4380m), is one of Nepal’s most famous places of pilgrimage for Hindu culture. It is surrounded by nine other lakes on the east and west of the lake (Kunda).

This area was greatly affected after the Earthquake that shook Nepal on the 25th of April 2015. There is history in every step, a story behind each look and each rock that we leave behind. So many emotions will awake our hearts and open our souls to a new perspective of life.

We can’t wait to show you what the Langtang National Park has to offer. It will start in Syapru Besi and soon we will find ourselves surrounded by the exuberant deep forests where bamboo and Rhododendron (the national flower of Nepal) grow. We will find the Langur monkey along the way, and we will see the popular bee hives hanging on the steep rocks from where the expert honey hunters climb with handmade ropes and ladders to collect the most delicious honey in Nepal. Our Tour “Searching for the Red Panda”, totally exclusive for this trek, is a lifetime experience.

In addition of living a great cultural experience, we can see the majestic peaks of the Himalaya of Langtang (Langtang Lirung 7227m, Langtang II, Urking Kangari, Baden Powell Scout Peak, Naya Kanga, Pico Yala …). And we will ascend to some of them like Kyanjin Ri (4773m) or Tserko Ri (4984m). We will explore the Langtang Lirung Base Camp Glacier or we will go to visit Langshisha Karka at the end of the valley surrounded by numerous snowcapped mountains.

Day to visit the city. You wil be able to explore the city and finish last preparations before the trek.We will provide you all information you need to explore Kathmandu and it’s most emplematic places. If you wish to make a guided tour in the city, do not hesitate to let us know.

We travel by jeep during 6 hours aproximately. We arrive in the afternoon to Syapru Besi and explore the area. We won’t forget to go and visit the Hot springs in the area.

During the first couple of hours we walk on a very easy and flat path. After, the terrain starts getting steep. We walk through bambu forests. The damages caused by the earthquake starts to be clearly visible. In the Bamboo village we can see a very big landslide. On the way we will find the Langur monkey, bee hives hunging on the steep rocks and beautiful paths that will take us through a narrow and prominent valley.

The terrain ascends though steep paths until the lost village of Langtang. Langtang village was completely destroyed by the earthquake on the 25th of April 2015. Nowadays the villagers, most of them with external and international help, have been able to reconstruct many houses. We arrive to Mundu, the oldest village of the region. The path will leave us speechless. The locals we meet on our way will fill us with moving stories full of learning and experience. In this very day, we will have the oportunity to understand what happened during the earthquake of 2015, the means that villagers and tourists had, the actions that were taken by the rescue teams and the government of Nepal, and all kinds of information that will make us reflect. And maybe, most importantly, will make us value the precious gift of the present, the moment, life.. The landscape here starts opening to the magestic mountains of Langtang Himalayas. A scenary that will take our breath away.

A shorter day will take us to Kyanjin Gumba.Where we will enjoy the best views of the Langtang National Park. This panorama is absolutely astonishing. Here we will spend 3 nights, because big part of the adventure is concentrated within the surroundings of the beautiful village of Kyanjin Gumba.

We will enjoy ascending one of the peaks to contemplate the magic view of the snow capped mountains and the Langtang Lirung Glacier above Kyanjin. In this day, it is possible to organize an opcional Yala Peak (5500m) ascension if the group has requested this service in advanced. To ascend Yala Peak it is mandatory to get a different permit appart from getting technical material for the task. If the group wants to climb Yala Peak they should request the service with a minimum of 15 days before the arrival day to Nepal and the price will be different.

During this jurney the options depends on the energy of the group. We can enjoy ascending to the Glacier of Langtang Lirung, or make a longer expedition to Langshisa Karka. Both experiences absolutely fantastic. Our tour lider Pol will help us to decide the best option according to the moment.

We will descend through the same steep path we went up before until Lama Hotel. Today it will be a good idea to use the trekking poles!

This journey will take us to ascend through a very steep terrain until Thulo Syabru. We enjoy the spectactular views from the top of the hill.

Today will be an exploration day. The area offers endless options. Pol, alongside with our villager friends, will discover us the fauna of the region. “Searching for the Red Panda”, a species in extinction; only 1000 are left worldwide. For those who love rock climbing, in this village, our InspireU Adventures friends, including Pol, have done a extraordinary work and they have open some routes in some rocks of the region. In addition, they donated material to the village so they can rent it to the trekkers that want to enjoy a climbing day in one of the remote villages of the Himalayas of Nepal. Without any doubt, a unique oportunity.

Today we continue towards Laurebina village. We will have a privileged views of the western Himalaya range. The views include Annapurna and Dhaulagiri as well as Langtang peak. Our walk goes though Rododendron forests, the national flower of Nepal.

Today the terrain is more gentle, and opens up to the apline geography. Today we arrive to the Gosaikunda sacred lake. Gosaikunda is one of the most important places of pilgrimage of Nepal. At an altitude of 4380m and surrounded by higher terrain to the east and north, this “kunda” o lake, is truly pintoresque. Every year, during the Janai Poornima festival, in August, thousands of hindu pilgrims go to Gosaikunda to take a purifying bath that will provide them with health, wealth and good luck. It is a very extraordinary place that very few tourists visit. The magic of the lakes is truly spectacular.

We will explore the area and the Gosaikunda lakes. If the group is up to, we can enjoy a day ascending the Surya Peak (5140m).

In Sian Gompa we will enjoy a delicious Yak cheese. We will love Sian Gompa, a village with a very special charm, with very hospitable locals.

Back to Kathmandu. We will walk to Dunche, and we will take a transport back to Kathmandu that will take us around 6 horas. We will check in at the hotel, and we will reward ourselves with a well deserved rest.

Last day to explore the city of Kathmandu or visit the surroundings (Bhaktapur, Nagarkot, Dhulikel and Namo Buddha…) and find special artisan crafts to take home as a memory of a Country that Inspired You.

Wishing that this has been an unforgetable experience for you, we hope to see you again soon!
