A Nepal trek that includes the most of the Highlights of the entire Sagarmatha National Park. We discover the astonishing views of Everest Range from a privileged point of view (Gokyo Ri 5357m), the beauty of the Gokyo Lakes surrounded by gigantic peaks and the Renjo La Pass, and the magic of one of the highest Buddhist Monastery in the world with a very powerful history. Rebuilt twice due to an earthquake(1934) and a fire(1989), Tengboche Monastery was strategically built on top of a hill overseeing the Solokhumbu Valley.
We contemplate some of the highest peaks in the world and in the region: (Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu(8463m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Nuptse (7864m), Pumori (7165m), Ama Dablam (6814m)(Check our Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek), Kangtega (6783m), Thamserku (6618)…)
Mingle in the Sherpa culture as you walk through the nature of the Himalayas. The Yeti steps are present in the legends (or not…) of the locals.
Gokyo Lakes is one of the most popular treks for its outstanding natural beauties. The path towards Gokyo offers a variety of landscapes, from Rhododendron forests and beautiful waterfalls, to rocky terrain with less vegetation ending on a paradise where the contrast of the Dudh Pokhari (Gokyo Lake) and the mountains surrounding it can be compared with the most beautiful painting. Something that everyone should see at least once in their lifetime. You will get inspired and may feel overwhelmed by so much beauty of nature and culture.
During the acclimatization days, we organize different activities you can choose from, amongst them our Special Sherpa Cooking Class conducted by our family in Namche Bazar.

On our arrival to Monjo, we will be able to explore the village and check the Monastery and the School, and have our first Sherpa dinner. This time we sleep in a high altitude mountain lodge! The adventure has just started...
During this journey we will be able to have the first views of Mount Everest just before arriving to Namche Bazar. This will be a short day trek, around 3 to 4 hours. The last 2 hours we will face a steep terrain after crossing one of the highest suspension bridges of the region to arrive to Namche Bazar. We will have time to walk around the village, taste delicious sweet caprices at the German Bakery, enjoy the paintings and the handicraft around the village or play pool at the bar!
We will spend the day doing some treks and activities to explore the area and get immersed in the culture. A variety of options are available. Some of our favourite ones; trek to Everest View Hotel, astonishing trek with the best views of the range of Everest: Nuptse, Lhotse, Everest, Annapurna… Visit Khumjung, just at the bottom of Mount Khumbila (the sacred mountain). We see the Edmund Hillary Foundation School and come back through Yak farms. On our arrival back to Namche Bazar, we can enjoy a good movie or documentary at the coffee shop, or if you prefer, we have available a Sherpa Cooking Class* special for you!(*no costs incurred for any of the activities mentioned).
We will trek through the Rhododendron forests and see magic waterfalls on the way.
Walking along the Dudh River, now the panorama offers less vegetation, and more open spaces with big peaks on both sides. Easy and comfortable terrain for the day.
We will explore and hike to the surroundings, discover the seasonal flora and get to see new view points.
Welcome to Gokyo Paradise! After passing the first two lakes we arrive to the third one, Dudh Pokhari (Pokhari meanning Lake), where the Gokyo Village is. We will contemplate the enormous Ngozumba Glacier, and we will be able to see Mount Cho Oyu (8201m) to the north. Enjoying the panorama of the lake with a tasty tea whilst meeting the locals, and enjoying a wonderful Sherpa meal will be our great reward.
We will hike along the Ngozumba Glacier to the Fifth Lake and enjoy more of what the Gokyo Valley has to offer. We will go back to sleep in Gokyo Village.
We will not regret early morning wake up alarm. Hiking to the summit of Gokyo Ri and get to see the sunrise behind the Mount Everest is priceless. Is here where we get to see what is known as one of the best panorama of the Everest Range. Our descend starts today to Phangga.
Phortse Village offers a new perspective of the Valley, located on top of a hill flanked by the two main valleys (the one that leads to Everest Base Camp, and the one that leads to Gokyo Lakes) oversees the south of the National Park and it's surrounded by spectacular peaks like Kongde, Khumbila, Thamserkhu and many more. We will cross the Dudh River to end the walk with a last 40min steep path.
We will start our trek walking through a narrow path with wonderful views to Tengboche Monastery that shows magestically on our right at the other side of Imja River. We will stop for lunch in Upper Pangboche and we will have the opportunity to check the oldest Buddhist Monastery in the region. Our journey will conclude in Tengboche, where we will visit the largest and most important centre of Buddhist education in the region. The views of Mount Everest are great from this point.
We will return to Namche Bazar starting our day descending through a steep terrain for couple of hours to cross the Dudh River and ascend again up for about 2 more hours. The rest of the journey is a nice flattish terrain.
We will say good bye to Namche, not before a well deserved farewell in the German Bakery for the best coffee and the delicious sweet artisan biscuits. Lukla will be our last stop before taking the flight back to Kathmandu the next day.
The flight will leave early in the morning*(see note above the map). And after landed in Kathmandu, our transport will drop you off at the Hotel in Kathmandu. The rest of the day is for you to rest and to enjoy the city! We will be available to do recommendations or help you in anything you need. If you wish, you can request a Guided Tour through the city if you haven't done it on the second day of your stay in Kathmandu.
Last day to explore the city of Kathmandu or visit the surroundings (Bhaktapur, Nagarkot, Dhulikel and Namo Buddha...) and find special artisan crafts to take home as a memory of a Country that Inspired You.
We hope to see you again soon!
