Khopra Surprise Trek

Annapurna Conservation Area

  • Spectacular views of Annapurna Range from Kopra, similar to the views obtained in the popular Poon Hill but away from the crowds.
  • We are contributing to a wonderful community project where the money spent in the villages is shared with all the community.
  • Immersion to the rural lifestyle in communities that are outstandingly preserved over the centuries.
  • Wonderful short trek where we get a taste of Nepal panorama: the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu; the second largest city in Nepal, Pokhara, the heart of the rural world at the bottom of the Himalayas.
  • We take a comfortable 25 minutes flight to Pokhara and back to Kathmandu. Avoiding a long drive by bus that takes all day on the road. Therefore, we have plenty of time to enjoy both cities and in addition the flight has outstanding views of the Himalaya range (Manaslu and Annapurna regions) all the way!
  • Easy to moderate Nepal trek for a large variety of fitness levels.

Discover a very inspirational trek away from the crowded trails. This trek includes several stops to villages integrated in the new community-managed projects of Nepal; where the benefits from tourism reaches the whole community instead of only individuals. The trek offers community lodges and home stays.

The views from Khopra, offer similar, if not a better perspective to the Annapurna Himalayan Range than the one from Poon Hill. Views of 2 of the highest mountains in the world: Annapurna I (8091m), Dhaulagiri (8172m), and also other numerous snowcapped mountain peaks such as Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri, Varaha Shikhar, Annapurna South, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna IV, Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal.

The ascension to the Khayer Lake is one of the holy pilgrimages for the local Hindu community. This trek offers a great opportunity to get involved and understand the culture of the region. We will walk through many temples along the way. A fusion of culture and astonishing nature with the most spectacular Rhododendron forests of the region.

The Eco-Tourism approach in this region offers a sense of humanity and respect that will bring us a fresh perspective.
