This is a very special Nepal Trek with a very different perspective of the Solukhumbu Valley. The astonishing views will leave you speechless. It is a great alternative to those who want to have an overview of the Valley and no time or will to trek for many days to the highest points.
The Mount Kongde (4250m) is situated in front of Namche Bazar, (the center of Sagarmatha National Park) but separated by the Bhote Koshi Nadi river. To hike all the way to the top of Kongde, we will cross Bhote Koshi Nadi river via Thame and start the ascension in diagonal.
Thame was greatly affected by the earthquake on the 25th of April 2015. It has been fully reconstructed with help of many alpine associations, organizations and companies, as well as individual trekkers and lovers of Everest Region.
In this trek you will be transported to the magic paths and legendary views to encounter yourself contemplating majestic peaks and some of the highest mountains in the world: Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse (7861m), Ama Dablam (6812m), Pumori (7161m), Thamserku (6608m)…
Walking through Rhododendron forests and passing by beautiful large cascades falling from the top of the hills, we get into the world of the Sherpa culture. The Sherpa community has a particular tradition, customs, religion (Buddhist) and language, all coming from Tibetan roots. On our way to Kongde, we will be discovering the treasure of this culture and the magnificence of the Himalayas.
Unique and one of a kind, never to be forgotten.
During the acclimatization days, we organize different activities you can choose from, amongst them our Special Sherpa Cooking Class conducted by our family in Namche Bazar.
Check our Trip Schedule below this page for more details.

Be prepared for a true adventure flying with a small aircraft with astonishing views of the Himalayas on the left of the aircraft, and the infinite hills covered by rice field terraces on the left. Once we land we start trekking. We will stop to recharge batteries and have some food in Phakding. Our last destination will be Monjo, the last village before entering the Sagarmatha National Park. On our arrival to Monjo, we will be able to explore the village and check the Monastery and the School, and have our first Sherpa dinner. This time we sleep in a high altitude mountain lodge! The adventure has just started...
During this journey we will be able to have the first views of Mount Everest just before arriving to Namche Bazar. This will be a short day trek, around 3 to 4 hours. The last 2 hours we will face a steep terrain after crossing one of the highest suspension bridges of the region to arrive to Namche Bazar. We will have time to walk around the village, taste delicious sweet caprices at the German Bakery, enjoy the paintings and the handicraft around the village or play pool at the bar!
We will spend the day doing some treks and activities to explore the area and get immersed in the culture. A variety of options are available. Some of our favourite ones; trek to Everest View Hotel, astonishing trek with the best views of the range of Everest: Nuptse, Lhotse, Everest, Annapurna… Visit Khumjung, just at the bottom of Mount Khumbila (the sacred mountain). We see the Edmund Hillary Foundation School and come back through Yak farms. On our arrival back to Namche Bazar, we can enjoy a good movie or documentary at the coffee shop, or if you prefer, we have available a Sherpa Cooking Class* special for you!(*no costs incurred for any of the activities mentioned).
We will head to one of the most important villages of the region, Thame. The path is flattish, and really pleasant to walk. We cross Bhoti Koshi Nadi river to ascend a mellow and short steep terrain to Thame village.
This will be a long trek day. From Thame we will start ascending Kongde Mountain till the top in diagonal. Passing by forest paths, to arrive to the open meadows of the top of Kongde. There is no better reward than the spectacular views that Kongde offers, and a tasty Sherpa meal will be the greatest way to end the day.
Kongde Resort is one of those places anyone would wish to stay for longer. And that's what we do, we cannot just leave this incredible place, and we spend the day exploring the surroundings and pressing the camera button to capture what our eyes wish would never forget.
We have a journey of descent, so we prepare the walking poles and enjoy the last views of Everest Range before departing.
A walk of nice mellow ups and downs. We arrive to Lukla ascending a steep terrain for the last few minutes that will remind us that the trek is not over yet until the very last step!
The flight will leave early in the morning*(see note above the map). And after landed in Kathmandu, our transport will drop you off at the Hotel in Kathmandu. The rest of the day is for you to rest and to enjoy the city! We will be available to do recommendations or help you in anything you need. If you wish, you can request a Guided Tour through the city if you haven't done it on the second day of your stay in Kathmandu.
Last day to explore the city of Kathmandu or visit the surroundings (Bhaktapur, Nagarkot, Dhulikel and Namo Buddha...) and find special artisan crafts to take home as a memory of a Country that Inspired You.
We hope to see you again soon!
