Visit the land of Sherpas and get inspired by the magic of one of the highest Buddhist Monastery in the world (3860m). With more than a century of history, the Tengboche Monastery, the biggest in the area, has been rebuilt twice in the past due to an earthquake and a fire.
A Mystic trip that will transport us to the Buddhist culture of the Solukhumbu area, surrounded by majestic peaks and some of the highest mountains in the world; Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse (7861m), Ama Dablam (6812m), Thamserku (6608m)… We will be visiting other Buddhist Monasteries in Khumjung and Pangboche. All these Monasteries are of a great importance in the Sherpa community. Khumjung, considered the capital of the region, stores in its monastery the skull of the Yeti which is kept under a key. Pangboche has the oldest Buddhist Monastery in the Region where legends and history intertwine. In Tengboche, we find a very important Buddhist education centre.
Trek in the shadows of the Yeti still present amongst the legends of the locals. Mingle in the Sherpa culture as you walk through the nature of the Himalayas. Let yourself connect with the mystic and Buddhist part of the Himalayas, with strong Tibetan roots, in one of the most astonishing Nepal Trek you will ever do in your life…
During the acclimatization day, we organize different activities you can choose from, amongst them our Special Sherpa Cooking Class conducted by our family in Namche Bazar.
Check our Trip Schedule below this page for more details.
“When being in nature, nothing becomes competitive and the only thing I face is my inner self. I find myself face to face with a Reality that is beyond my ego and my individuality. All becomes one, nature and I fusion in one. “I”, then, disappears. This is the purest way to realise we are all the same. And then is when Compassion and Love becomes the Nature itself.”

On our arrival to Monjo, we will be able to explore the village and check the Monastery and the School, and have our first Sherpa dinner. This time we sleep in a high altitude mountain lodge! The adventure has just started...
During this journey we will be able to have the first views of Mount Everest just before arriving to Namche Bazar. This will be a short day trek, around 3 to 4 hours. The last 2 hours we will face a steep terrain after crossing one of the highest suspension bridge of the region to arrive to Namche Bazar. We will have time to walk around the village, taste delicious sweet caprices at the German Bakery, enjoy the paintings and the handicraft around the village or play pool at the bar!
We will spend the day doing some treks and activities to explore the area and get immersed in the culture. A variety of options are available. Some of our favourite ones; trek to Everest View Hotel, astonishing trek with the best views of the range of Everest: Nuptse, Lhotse, Everest, Annapurna… Visit Khumjung, just at the bottom of Mount Khumbila (the sacred mountain). We see the Edmund Hillary Foundation school and come back through Yak farms. On our arrival back to Namche Bazar, we can enjoy a good movie or documentary at the coffee shop, or if you prefer, we have available a Sherpa Cooking Class* special for you!(*no costs incurred for any of the activities mentioned).
After a nice flattish walk through a wide path for about an hour, we will descend to the Dudh Kosi river and cross a suspension bridge to go up again through a steep terrain for about 2 hours to arrive to the paradise called Tengboche; one of the highest Buddhist Monastery in the world. Tengboche is located on top of a hill overseeing the Sagarmatha Valley both towards Everest Base Camp and towards Namche Bazar with Mount Kongde in the background.Panoramic views to Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamersekhu are wonderful here.
Our day takes us to visit 2 very special villages in the Valley. We have lunch in Upper Pangboche. This is one of the most important villages of the region with the oldest Buddhist Monastery of the region. The views of Ama Dablam are just the best ones from here. After a tasty lunch we will head to Phortse. We walk through a narrow path with spectacular views of Tengboche at the other side of the river Imja. Phortse is a special village on top of a hill that oversees the south of the Sagarmatha National Park. Facing south, on our left, Tengboche Monastery, on our right, the path that leads to Gokyo Lakes, in front, the majestic Mount Khumbila (the sacred mountain that cannot be climbed).
From Phortse we will descend to the river Dudh to continue the path towards Namche Bazar.
We will say good bye to Namche, not before a well deserved farewell in the German Bakery for the best coffee and the delicious sweet artisan biscuits. Lukla will be our last stop before taking the flight back to Kathmandu the next day.
The flight will leave early in the morning*(see note above the map). And after landed in Kathmandu, our transport will drop you off at the Hotel in Kathmandu. The rest of the day is for you to rest and to enjoy the city! We will be available to do recommendations or help you in anything you need.
